Liverpool Santa Dash!

2nd December

Early this cold, frosty morning we drove to Liverpool City centre to take part in one of the UK’s biggest festive fun runs. We pounded the pavements of the city Centre along with thousands of other Santa’s taking part in the annual 5k dash to raise money for charity.

This year Liverpool Santa Dash has partnered with ‘ITV Text Santa’ an annual fundraiser which is supporting six UK-based charities Age UK, Anthony Nolan, Carers UK, Marie Curie Cancer Care, Together for Short Lives and Whizz-kidz. Check out the ITV Text Santa fundraise page for more information http://www.itv.com/textsanta/

As we approached the City Centre, Santa’s were walking around everywhere, bringing so much colour and festive cheer to the grey, calm city on this early Sunday morning.

As we made our way to the start line in front of the Liver Building the crowds of Santa’s multiplied, you could feel the excitement in the air as everyone gathered together…

It was a real tight squeeze near the start line…DSC01171 (2)

You could feel the festive spirit all around you and the fantastic support from the crowds all the way around the course.

The organisers were aiming for 13,000 Santa’s participating to get into the Guinness book of records – whether this record has been broken is yet to be confirmed. What do you think?

We had a great morning running around the city of Liverpool along with thousands of other Santa’s, it was a well-organized fun event which raised money for some great charities. I would definitely recommend to others in the future.

Whether you walk, jog or run it’s the taking part which counts! We even got a lovely medal and a pair of gloves at the finish line too.
